Daniel Loigerot

Daniel Loigerot is one of the foremost sports trainers in New York. His expert knowledge of physiology coupled with his extensive athletic experience enables him to customize his training sessions for his client's specific physical challenges in the context of the client's sports and life performance goals.

Daniel has been in New York for 3 years. Presently, Daniel is the co-founder and Managing Director of The Pilates Edge Studio in Soho, New York, which he co-founded in 2001. Daniel's fitness practice offers a comprehensive, scientific approach that evaluates the complete athlete through a formal assessment methodology from which Daniel designs an athlete-specific development plan that addresses both the inner athlete's mental toughness and the athlete's physical performance. Daniel works closely with the athlete to execute the plan and collaborates with their coaches throughout the development process. Currently, he is training dancers and equestrians generating positive performance results by enhancing strength, flexibility, positive balance, and focus. He conducted Pilates training for Betsy Steiner's breakthrough Equilates certification course. His dancer clientele includes principal dancers of the Alvin Ailey dance company and Dance Brazil during their New York 2004 season.

Prior to coming to New York, he had a comprehensive and accomplished athletic and training career in Marseille, France. There he founded Gym Loigerot, a specialized conditioning and fitness center. He trained a variety of sports, including cycling, triathlon, soccer, tennis, golf, basketball, and marathon. Gym Loigerot specialized in bespoke training for specific sports and holistic fitness namely: strength, flexibility, cardio-vascular, and muscular endurance. This included athlete rehabilitation training conducted in conjunction with the athlete's medical doctor and instruction for organizations and individuals in anatomy, human biology and physiology for fitness certification.

Daniel has multiple degrees from the University of AIX-Marseilles and its School of Medicine, and is diplomaed in multiple areas, including swimming, aerobics, stretching, and judo. Daniel holds an elite certification in the Pilates Method for Body Conditioning from Master Teacher Romana Kryzanowska, the last remaining Pilates disciple who was personally trained by Joseph Pilates.

Daniel's personal athletic experience allows him to bring a unique training perspective to his clients. From 1990 to 1996 he was a National French Triathlete and participated in the World Championships. He subsequently became the strength coach for the National French Basketball Team from 1996 to 1998. Finally, from 1997 to 1999 he was the strength coach for the National French Cyclist Team. In 2000, he came to New York to study the Pilates Method with Master Teacher Kryzanowska.
